@__Diagnosis It's more than just transmission lines. The grid is a highly complex bit of engineering. Large rotating generators (coal/gas/nuclear) have unique attributes that the whole grid has been designed around. These attributes (VARs , inertia) aren't present in wind turbines and solar panels. There are way of addressing these difficulties, but they are still in their infancy as technologies, add considerable complexity, and are VASTLY more expensive that historic methods. It isn't as simple as political spin doctors want people to believe, just plugging in renewables like they were a toaster or washing machine.

@__Diagnosis Did you ever watch the movie 'V for Vendetta'. Made years before covid, and SO spot on the money in relation to how the world reacted to covid. Government deliberately released a virus to control the population, curfews, virus police, controlling the population through fear.... the lot.

@Fvcky0uverymuch Why would you think I'd give an intelligent reply to someone who can't be bothered typing more then two words.

I suggest anyone interested in this topic download and read the AEMO report "Engineering Roadmap to 100% Renewables" December 2022. The report clearly says, Australia is attempting something not done anywhere in the world, they are still figuring out how to do it and will be for years to come, the risks are high, we are going into totally unchartered waters, at present are not adequately equipped to plan the transition, and the consequences of many potential problems is significant. Basically they are making it up as the go and hope it works. In their own words "Managing this increasing complexity in the transition to 100% renewables will a step change in operational capability. Progressing this uplift, while simultaneously operating a real, gigawatt-scale power system is akin to “rebuilding a plane while flying it.”
