Chasing people of Burleigh Heads sitting in the sun, and responsibly enjoying themselves has NOTHING to do with public health. Its solely about the government establishing it 'authority'.

Your outrage seems to hinge on one thing, that the various small groups sitting in the sun on Burleigh Heads hill represented a real and genuine threat of materially spreading the virus. Only one problem, that's completely false. No one in Australia has caught the virus under such circumstances. There is now clear evidence that the virus doesn't like sunshine. There is also clear evidence Vitamin D to boost your immunity system is an effective defense. You make Vitamin D sitting in the sunshine.

@NudNik69 That's probably the irony. After the police forced these small groups sitting a reasonable distance apart on the hill in the sun to move, looking for something to do a fair percentage of them drove to one of the mega shopping complexes. They then walk or sit cheek to jowl in the crowd in the air-conditioned shade. Moving them from the fresh air and sunshine into a way more crowed artificial indoor environment probably increased their risk of catching or spread the virus by a factor of 100.
