  2. Naturally there is confusion. What has been proposed was never a well thought out plan. It's just a quickly made up damage control response to the totally deserving criticism that Chalmers created by implying he was going to 'reimagine' the complete retirement system, including where people are forced to invest their own money. You don't need to "legislate the purpose of superannuation" to simply bring in a higher tax on investment returns for balances over $3 Million. It would only be necessary to try and justify a complete remake of the system to make it more "equitable" and "sustainable", code for a MASSIVE wealth grab by a socialist government.
