A climate change 'expert' predicting pending doom in the near future if radical changes aren't made. Why didn't they tell us about 20, 30, 40 years ago???? Oh, that's right, they've been predicting this demise was just around the corner for the best part of 40 years, and it hasn't happen yet.

@alfieandme1289 Agreed. But you'd think that if people were even half intelligent, they'd see that the dire predictions these crew have been spewing out for the past 40 years haven't actually eventuated. BUT .... I suppose that assumes a significant number of people are at lease half-intelligent, foolish assumption on my behalf I realize. Was watching the SkyNews UK channel the other day (just flicking around) and they covered the recent West Australian cyclone on their daily 'Climate Change' show. According to the presenter and her climate expert from some university, its rare for cyclones to hit the North West coast of Australia, and the frequency is increasing, proof of climate change. Only one small factual problem, the most frequent part of Australia prone to cyclones (75% that occur in Australia) is the North West coast of Australia (5 every year, with 2 crossing the coast on average), and the frequency of cyclones for Australia has consistently been steadily decreasing since the 1970's. Mere minor facts I realize.

@Wolfways There is zero evidence of more or stronger cyclones, hurricanes, anywhere in the world. The closest you can get is a reported increase in the number of North Atlantic hurricanes, but that is solely due to satellite technology now capturing every one. The number making landfall hasn't significantly changed in nearly 200 years. There is more building damage now, solely because there are more buildings.

@Wolfways And that's the key point. Their predictions of gloom over the past 40 years have been consistently wrong.
1
@Wolfways That's the whole point. There past predictions have been wowefully wrong, what makes you thing their future prediction will be any better.

@Wolfways Climate extremists have told us Polar Bears should be extinct by now. The number of Polar Bears is now greater than anytime in the past 50 years. Climate extremists have told us coral atoll nations will be swallowed up by the rising seas. Coral atolls are actually increasing in size. Climate extremists have told us tropical storms would increase in BOTH frequency and strength. The number has been decreasing, and there is no evidence of any increase in strength. Climate extremists have told us droughts will be more frequent in Australia. There is no evidence of droughts becoming more frequent over the past 100 years. Not bushfires. They have told us coral bleaching is only a recent occurrence (caused by climate change). We know know its been occurring for at least 300 years, and is NOT caused by climate change ......Like me to go on? If these crew were tipping horse race results, based upon their track record, you'd have to be pretty dumb to continue to follow their tipping advice. P.S. But I suspect that like the vast majority of climate change extremists, you aren't really interested in the facts. You just want to virtue signal and tell the world you care about the planet. That's ok, I care about it to.

@Wolfways I have read your posts, but I believe we are not in agreement. Nothing to do with left v right. It's about fact, science, and truth. The climate extremists have for 40 years been making wild clams, none of which have eventuated. Virtual none of these wild claims have been based on science. The key point is, based upon our VERY limited understanding of what really drives the climate (to think it is just CO2 is incredibly naive), and the history of wild and false claims by so called experts (done mostly to gain personal notoriety) it would be very wise to maintain a healthy skepticism to everything these so called experts claim.

@Wolfways You make a big deal that temperatures are rising, and glaciers etc are melting. This is your 'proof' its all due to increasing human created CO2 levels????? What your actually demonstrating is that your the typical virtue signalling climate extremist. Lots of emotion, few scientific facts. If the increase in temperature is all due to increasing CO2 levels, how do you explain the rise in temperature from around 1880 to 1950 when CO2 levels remained largely unchanged? Even the IPCC claims only about half the current temperature rise of the past 50 years (they stopped claiming the past 120 years as it was painfully obviously it wasn't the industrial revolution) is due to human effects. The temperature started rising around 1880 because the 300 year long period know as the Little Ice Age came to an end. A period during which ice sheets and glaciers progressed to their maximum extent. The weather started to increase again, just like it has done over the past thousands of years, and the glaciers have started to retract. All perfectly normal.

@Wolfways And the reason for coal bleaching is not ocean acidification, you really don't know much at all about this subject. It is due to the perfectly normal event of rapid sea temperature change caused by El Nino events. Scientists know these have been occurring for at least 300 years (the oldest coral they can find for that proof) and common sense says long before that. Scientists don't even know what triggers an El Nino event, that's how little we really know. They know what happens when one occurs, but not why it occurs. There is NO established connection between El Nino events and 'climate change'. Even the logic that reefs won't recover as quickly from these natural caused bleaching events if the background water temperature is slightly higher is nonsense. Corals grow in permanent water temperatures quite happily many degrees warmer than those typically found on the Great Barrier Reef.

@Wolfways Now you really have shown your true colors. Your a pure virtue signaler And in typical form, the instant someone tries to point out the scientific facts, you resort to the only 'tool' you have .... insults e.g. 'climate denier'. But the reality is the instant you did that, you were admitting defeat. Go learnt something about the subject instead of listening to frauds like Michael Mann, and emotionally disturbed people like Greata Thunberg.

@Wolfways Even to mention "the vast majority of scientists" again shows how little you know about the subject. Do you even know where the false claim that 95% of climate scientists believe X came from? As I'll bet your don't, it came from a so called study that used Google to research recent published papers on the subject, looking for the words 'climate change'. The people doing the study didn't even read the paper. It is about the most debunked study related to climate change going. Surely even you would realize no scientist who wants to have a job and want to keep it would not publish a paper against the required narrative, they would be immediately cancelled. You have no responded to a single factual point I've made regarding the false claims of climate extremists. Yet I have responded with links and facts to just about everyone of your claims. The reason you can't respond is because you actually know very little about the subject. You are so blinkered I bet you didn't even watch the Judith Curry video. You really think you know more about the subject than she does??? You don't.
