  1. Again, just demonstrates how totally stupid and out of touch the people claiming to be running the show really are. They don't realize, or more likely pretend not too, the public has long since stopped taking any notice of them and is moving on with their lives. Now just a few businesses are being punished by the government to demonstrate its 'authority', nothing else. You can crowd thousands in a busy shopping center, get in a busy peak hour train, but you can't have more than 10 people in a restaurant the size of a large hall. Just mindless stupid authoritarianism for zero health reasons.

  2.  Mono Woman  I certainly agree with you on the nutritional aspect. Even as early as Wuhan, Chinese emergency doctors were commenting on the high percentage of obese people they were seeing. That's now well and truly been established as the number one risk factor, obesity with its associated diabetes and other lifestyle disease e.g. cardiovascular disease, hypertension, etc. 42% of Americans are classified as obese, 10% morbidly obese. Australian probably isn't too far behind. But are our 'expert' public health officials putting a strong emphasis on this critical variable? No. Even just a tiny itsey bitsy mention? No. All about finding a vaccine so everyone can continue poising themselves as if nothing happened.

  3.  @ActiveAussie2024  Yes, they are stupid. Wouldn't it have been as simple as saying you can have a 10 (for very small holes in the wall places) or X number per area of floor space which every is the larger. My local pub is quite large in floor area but generally only has a few people in it. My ONLY concern for getting the pub open is for the now unemployed people who previously worked there. For those who would say, but 10 in a small 'hole in the wall' is still crowded, you clearly haven't been to a busy shopping center recently or traveled in a peak hour train. Regardless, if people are concerned, simple don't patronize the joint.
