I feel for the hard working business people who have been bankrupted, will loose their homes, and family breakup. I feel for the casual workers in the hospitality industry on very low wages who have been thrown on the scrap heap. I feel for those with mental health issues where paid employment is often their only connection to society and the only thing that gives their chaotic life some stability. I feel for all the old single men who's only contact with society is a couple beers each afternoon with a few fellow travelers at their local pub or club. I don't give a shi# about people at risk from covid because their appalling lifestyle choices have made them obese and suffering the totally preventable diseases of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hyper-tension, etc. I care as much about their health as they have chosen to do in the past.

@Hal Pacino The thing is, they are not letting up on the line 'vaccinations stop transmission'. They can't, its the whole basis of the governments so called 'strategy', its the sole basis for businesses e.g. Qantas, mandating vaccinations for all its work force. They will just keep plugging the line, as most people will believe anything if repeated enough. Try posting a link to the CDC study in Barnstable County, Massachusetts and Youtube will immediately delete your comment.

These daily 'lectures' (can't possibly call them a press conference) are getting worse every day. Glady's stop telling LIES. The vaccines will NOT alter transmission. That this is the case with the Delta variant is now clearly evident in England, Singapore, and the US. Positive PCR test results are not coming down, they will continue to rise to something like between 2000-3000 a day for NSW, where they will remain possibly forever. As such there is no justification whatsoever to base lockdowns on 'case numbers' other than your complete failure to prepare the hospital system for the known and always going to happen increase in hospital cases as the virus moves across the community.
