I agree with Keating, but for a slightly different reason. The head of ASIO can't just throw a bomb out like that. And the only reason he did it was to justify trying to get more money for his empire.

@markhill9275 The same thing occurred all over the Western world. Exactly like recent interest rate rises and inflation etc. What it actually proves is that despite the pretense, Treasurers actually have very little control over the economy. They have about as much control in a global economy as leaves in the wind.
