Why would he have been charged with rape at this time? She only went to the police about a week ago, over an alleged incident that occurred 2 years ago. Can't rush these sort of things. But as its all likely on CCTV (being in a secure part of parliament house where CCTV cameras are everywhere) what actually happened is probably well known by police who have the footage.

By her own admission as she really has no idea what actually happened that night because she was so drunk the story is .... 'fluid'.

Question for you. Are there some women who manipulate and use (abuse) men? If so how do you think the percentages match up between men who disrespect and use women, and women who disrespect and use men? How would you feel if the percentage turned out to be roughly the same.

As someone else in this thread has already said, a proportionate number of indigenous women and girls have been the subject of extreme physical and sexual abuse for decades. Where is all the 'woke' outrage for them? The whole current issue is nothing other than an attempt by left-wing extremists, and political opportunists to try and score political mileage against a conservative government.

She really has ever gone to the police when pressured (a) 2 years ago when her job was potentially on the line for being in a secure area without cause (spewing all over the floor from being so drunk won't have helped her cause) and decided to not press charges, and (b) now, as she has essentially painted herself into a corner on the matter by deciding to become a political activist. By her own words, the whole question of rape hinges on the point that she may have been too drunk to give consent. She only 'realized' this when being interrogated about her behavior some days latter. You thing a jury is going to be easily able to decide that matter? Perhaps if the video footage shows her being carried to the room, she may have a strong case. The bottom line is had the 'incident' occurred anywhere else other than the Ministers office and as such drew securities attention setting certain 'wheels in motion', the episode would likely have just been no more than a bad night she would want to forget.

@phorn100 You've written a long post, so just picking some random points ..... The police have had the CCTV footage for the past 2 years. That was one of her complaints, that the police weren't allowing her to view it. We really don't know the circumstance behind why she went with the guy to the Ministers office, and for it to end up in a sexual encounter. Certainly there are people who get a kick out of having sex on the bosses desk, or couch. Not saying that was the case, but it is a possibility. We don't know anything about the other person. The biased media has done a hit job on him, but that doesn't make it a fact. What I think happened is that she got into trouble for being in the room and the state she was in (they had to steam clean the room, so obviously she was vomiting). During the course of trying to explain the night, someone interviewing her has pointed out that being so drunk she was unable to give consent, so this technically was rape and she should go to the police. She does that, but isn't really keen on the idea so doesn't pursue the matter. Two years pass and she no longer wants to work for the government, and thinks what else can I make a buck out off. Looking around see see's others (won't name her but you can probably easily guess) building a career out of being a victim. So off she goes to the media with her story, and the rest is as they say, is now history.
