Comments by "John Woodrow" (@johnwoodrow8769) on "Australia abstains from vote at the UN on a treaty banning nuclear weapons" video.
A vote on this matter by the UN isn't worth the paper its written on. No country with nuclear weapons is going to take the slightest notice of it, and those striving to develop them will continue to do so.

And would it actually be a good thing if all nuclear weapons no longer existed? There is a solid argument the MAD doctrine has actually kept the major powers from attacking each other since the end of WWII, and killing tens of millions of people in the process. Now the major powers are restricted to just engaging in localised proxy conflicts eg. Syria.

People should actually research why North Korea developed its nuclear arsenal. Another bit of brilliant US foreign policy, relocating obsolete nuclear weapons out of Europe into South Korea to threaten North Korea. The North Korean's simply said, ok two can play that game.

No, "sustaining" is just trying to 'have a bob each way' on this matter and it's what pathetic people/countries do. In practice its supporting the current state of affairs (a no vote) yet at the same time try and fool a domestic audience people we aren't. Just more spin and deception by this present government.
