What is wrong with you Victorians? You just sit there doing nothing while this man does you completely over big-time. Since the beginning of time freedoms and rights had to be fought for, and vigorously defended. People in the past have been prepared to die defending their freedom and rights, now people are too scare because they might get a small fine, which is nothing if everyone refuses to pay it. People have all the power as long as they stick together. If people aren't prepared to rebel, well you are getting exactly what you deserve.

@crismac1188 I do agree that people these days seem to be becoming less and less critical thinking all the time. I put it down to the rise of social media where people are just instantly 'told' what to think without taking the time to research a subject, gathering information from a range of sources, and then forming their own independent opinion. Alas, there has never been a time in history when so much information was readily available, but so little effort put into actually using it by the vast majority of people.

France hasn't had any significant number of recorded Covid-19 deaths since May 15. It's current number of deaths is similar to Australia, and as it has nearly 3 times the population is in effect doing significantly better. Don't let facts get in the way of your unfounded paranoid fear mongering.

What do you mean "not do better"???? If you achieved virtually the same key result which is surely the number of deaths that would otherwise not occurred (NOTHING else is of any consequence) , without totally smashing the economy, destroying livelihoods and all the associated long term health outcomes that entails ...... then you would have done WAY better than the current unsustainable disaster. See it for what it is.... they have dug themselves into a hole, they won't admit it, and so they just keep digging believing everyone is so stupid they won't notice.

@crismac1188 I must admit I'm staggered that by now even the most illiterate half-wit hasn't recognized some key facts ...... Catching the virus is of itself no big deal for 99% of the population as long as the hospital system isn't overrun. Hardly anywhere in the Western world has that happened since early problems in Italy. The most likely outcome in relation to immunity is that a 'safe and effective' vaccine may never be found It isn't possible to 'eradicate' the virus. The HK Flu which killed millions of people in the late 1960 is still with us today as part of tha annual flu mix. Accept these 3 relatively simple facts, and develop a strategy based on that. There really is only one, just monitor things, open the community to allow the virus to spread and natural immunity to develop, focus on protecting aged care (a complex question e'g what level of 'protection' do they really want).
