The majority of Australian's couldn't care less about the ABC and NEVER watch it. It'd be lucky to have 10% of the population even occasionally watch an ABC program. Does it even have a program worth watching? I can't think of any these days (I'm being serious).

@kingjulian1549 No ... Laura Tingles, Andrew Proven, AND Andrew Clennell's question were all equally crass and just reflect the general poor level of 'journalism' in Australia. Perhaps its a 'chicken and egg' syndrome. The level of journalism has moved to the level of intelligence of the average Australian. Want evidence, the success of the mind numbing offensive TV show 'MAFS'.

@kingjulian1549 What is my viewing habits got to do with individual stations 'ratings'? Answer, nothing. I consider myself a well educated broad minded person who obtains perspectives from a BROAD range of sources. Not a typical small minded Australian who knows next to nothing about most subjects.

@kingjulian1549 You most be completely naive. The government gave the ABC the money in the hope it would go easier on them in the run up to the coming election. They may have even got the senior management of the ABC to verbally agree to this 'condition'. Unfortunately the senior management of the ABC has zero control of the organisation, and it is actually run by senior activist 'journalists' who have only one goal. To destroy any 'conservative' government and instill a left wing socialist one.

@kingjulian1549 The Morrison government won't defund the ABC because like most things they are gutless and weak. P.S. If you think Rupert Murdock has ANY influence on the Australian political scene these days, hate to tell you its not 1995. What Murdoch media outlets? A newspaper that hardly anyone buys these days, and a paid subscription service e.g. SkyNews (that actually has more hours in a day of left-wing content than right wing).

@kingjulian1549 I don't disagree that Lachlan seems to be exerting some editorial control on certain 'woke' subjects, and certain people e.g Craig Kelly are now persona non gratia. No one is disputing the prime time opinion segments on SkyNews are right wing oriented. The day time news segments are however the opposite, left leaning with presenters like Tom Connell. And as a private media organisation, they have every right to present a certain perspective on events. They make no attempt to claim they represent the middle ground. SkyNews wears it's conservative leaning right on its sleeve. On the contrary the ABC does NOT have that right. It is publicly funded so should present in an unbiased manner the full range of views of ALL Australian. It does not do that. It pretends to be impartial, as is anything but, and NEVER presents any other perspective other than a hard-left socialist agenda.

The logic that the ABC won't go as hard on the Morrison Government because it got increased funding is right up there with the other classic bits of stupidity by Morrison and co in trying to appease the left .... who will NEVER vote for them no matter what they do.
