  1. Sorry Andrew, can't agree with you on this one. Australians, in Australia, were denied the right to attend their parents funerals, attend their relatives weddings, even visit their elderly parents during the state imposed lock-downs. Basically the attitude we applied to ourselves (right or wrong) was that the greater community good would prevail at the expense of the individual. Now somehow, in the name of political correctness, we are supposed to reject the very standard we applied to Australian citizens at home, and take a more caring approach to Australian citizens who chose to go oversees (for the exact same reasons we said no to Australians who wanted to travel interstate) against the advice not to do so. Yes, its tough, and so was the state imposed restrictions to those who wanted to attend their fathers funeral (do people so quickly forget the poor girl who had to wear full PPE just to view her dead farther). But saying no is just being consistent.

  2. The only small minds are those playing the racist card in an attempt to pressure a desired outcome. The closing of the border to a covid 'hot spot' is 100% consistent to what has been occurring withing Australia for the past 12 months (border closures), which significantly impacting and stranding citizens of every creed, color and ethnic background.

  3.  @lavkmr1  No ones going to be imprisoned. If people simply follow the order, they have no concern do they. If someone says F you, I'm going do whatever I want, and they did end up in jail, they only have themselves to blame.

  4. People have to realize they are being 'played' like a fiddle here, using the 'race card' by those wanted to achieve a result. India is now a designated covid 'hot spot', the international boarder has now been shut. There is ZERO inconsistency there to what we have been doing for 'hot spots' withing Australia and closing state boarders in response for the past 12 months. You are being played, pressured by the false claim of "racist" to take a course of action totally different to what Australia has been doing within its own borders, to citizens of all backgrounds, for the past 12 months. P.S. Andrew, very disappointing to see you go over to the dark side shouting "racist!" when a measured reflection would clearly indicate this is not the case. I though your were better than that.
