If people want to get some appreciate of just what net-zero by 2050 would entail, read this .... https://www.iea.org/reports/net-zero-by-2050 Just to give one example, the report indicates that to achieve the necessary solar electricity component to be on track by 2030 a solar park equal to the size of the world’s current largest solar park needs to be completed EVERY DAY for the next eight years. The whole notion of 'net-zero by 2050' is just a total fiction pushed to the uninformed by lying politicians who know they won't be in office in 2050 so are quite happy to say whatever to gain or retain office.

  2.  @dorianshadesofgray  You could plant trees on every spare inch of available piece of land on the planet, and go nowhere near achieving net-zero emissions. It requires commercial aircraft without jet engines, ships powered by a yet to be discovered energy source, long-haul trucks the same, carbon-capture and storage to suck CO2 out of the atmosphere on a massive scale (a technology yet to be developed), complete changes in food systems, the elimination of farm animals, (everyone becoming a vegan), new technologies for making steel, pretty much eliminating cement the basis of the most widely used building material in the world, concrete,and on and on it goes. The International Energy Agency recently released a report outlining what would be required.
