Personally I doubt VERY much there is a "great" demand for international travel. Seems more hope and spin by someone with a vested interest if you ask me. Plenty of cheap holidays in India and Brazil at the moment, any takers? How about a 6 week ship cruise instead? Reckon it'll take years for confidence to return back to pre-covid.

@fordfalcon1965 So you telling me the young people who all seem to think the world is going to end in the not to distant future from the 'climate catastrophe' are rational thinkers. Interesting idea.

@fordfalcon1965 Don't disagree at all that the Boomers must take major responsibility for spoiling their children. The Boomer's parents were the Great Depression and WWII generation and basically had little. It's actually what made the Boomer generation so successful. Growing up with next to nothing and striving to be better. But in the process they wanted to children to have all the things they could only dream about, spoiling them and making them soft (physically, emotionally, and mentally).

@jackkinoff6943 I'm sure some budget overseas airline (bet you never fly Qantas) will be pleased to sell one seat. Personally I think your just talking bravado and likely have no imminent overseas trip planned. The cruise ship industry is also trying to talk up 'come cruising again'. Who in their right mind is going to get on a 'floating petri dish again' in a hurry? Answer, next to nobody. Same deal with air travel. Those who have a compelling reason MAY go, weight up the pain of spending 14 days in quarantine upon their return (that will be in place for years). The rest who just want a holiday, will stay local, most likely in their own state. While State Premiers continue to have snap lock-downs how many people are put off putting down deposits and making interstate travel plans. It's only a minority of people who just 'wing it' on holidays.

@jackkinoff6943 The question isn't what YOU will do, or even me for that matter. It is what the majority of Australians will choose to do. And in my opinion, as a generalization they will NOT be jumping into planes for an overseas holiday at any time in the foreseeable future.

@jackkinoff6943 You seem to lack the ability to even understand the point. What you do or think has ZERO effect of the majority of Australians. State Premiers are presently able to close whole states and imprison the citizens over 1 or 2 reported cases of covid, and 99% of the population dutifully complies. And you think these very same sheep are all going to pile on to airplanes to fly overseas shortly. Don't expect a further reply, you can't even address the topic. All you have done endlessly is say what YOU may do.
