You certainly don't let facts get in the road of a good rant. Highest deaths per capita on earth???? If you actually believe reported numbers the USA is actually 9th in the world. And why wouldn't it be expected to be in such a position, being the country with most obese population on earth, the number one risk factor for covid.

@paulfletcher8544 So I point out your highest death rate per capita claim regarding the USA is completely wrong, so you just change the 'goal-posts' to absolute number of deaths. With one of the largest populations in the world, and one of the most unhealthy populations in the world (40% obesity, nearly 50% in the afro-american community) why would anyone expect any other result. Do you really believe God will protect the USA? Don't be so quick to crow about the Australia's performance. As an island we have been able to largely keep the virus offshore. That is the only thing that is the difference. And on the balance of probabilities I think its a pretty safe bet that it will arrive here in volume at some time in the future. It's not a matter of if, just when. And that doesn't really concern me greatly. I've expected to catch it, if not already, at some point since it first surfaced. As I expect most people will, just like what happens with Influenza.

That's what I told you first reply, the USA does NOT have the highest death rate per capita in the world as you incorrectly stated. You seem to know very little about the subject. Co-morbidities are EVERYTHING when it comes to Covid-19. The US State of New York does have the highest death rate per capita in the world, by a factor of nearly 3 times that of Spain or Italy. Why? Because around 60,000 people in extreme poor health live on the streets of New York city. Because The state Governor forced aged care homes to take in infected patients from hospitals in order to free up beds rather than use the facilities provided by the Federal Government for pure crass political reasons. 97% of deaths in New York had one serious co-morbidity, 95% had two or more. That Australia is an island is the ONLY reason we have been able to so far control the virus. Only time will tell how well that holds up, and it requires Australia remain near completely disconnected from the rest of the world indefinitely. Covid-19 for a healthy person is no more serious than Influenza. That is a medical fact no matter how much you want to deny it. Around 4000 Australia's die each and every year from Influenza related complications. And that includes a small percentage of young children. You can count the number of children who have died from Covid-19 in the WHOLE WORLD on one hand. And all of them had serious medical conditions. How many people have died from AIDS? Answer 40-50 million. How many die currently each year from AIDS? 1 million a year. And the world basically doesn't give a shit. Keep things in perspective, which you seem to have lost.

@paulfletcher8544 You seem to now just be rambling. I originally said the main (virtually only) reason Australia is fairing ok by world standards is because it is an island. You're now agreeing. If you wanting to argue obesity, hypertension, cardio-vascular disease, type 2 diabetes, etc, etc, which are all PREDOMINANTLY life-style diseases of choice are not the MAJOR risk factor in a poor outcome if someone contracts covid-19, then you really know VERY little about the subject.

How could anyone seriously be critical of Donald's actions in relation to "unity for the country" given what he has had to endure from the Democrats for the past 4 years. Sorry Chris, such comments just make you look stupid. Donald took on the swamp, seemingly underestimate just how entrenched and powerful it truly was, and it appears to have won the 4 year long anything goes battle and returned to power with a puppet Joe out front.
