Why would anyone even suggest you'd continue to have lockdowns or community restrictions once herd immunity (that concept that was even toxic to mention 12 months ago) levels have been reached (either by vaccination or natural exposure). Are we also planning to do the same for Influenza going forward, it kills on average 4000 Australians each and every year, including children.

Listening to Gladys at today's NSW press conference, it is not unreasonable to assume the sole purpose of the current massive overreaction by governments all around Australia is really only for one purpose. And that is a 'shock and awe' tactic to drive up vaccination rates. And Glady's clearly implied that people will be 'punished' for not being vaccinated at some time in the near future, as soon as a more reliable supply becomes available. That message was just 'sugar-coated' by talking about 'incentives' for being vaccinated being put in place.
