Is it only left leaning 'indigenous people' (mostly people with a majority of European heritage that need to be respected? How come the VAST majority of people who voted NO and just hate all the current fake woke aboriginal nonsense would just love to have an aboriginal woman as Australian Prime Minister one day.

You seem to be happy in the midst, and adding to, all that "pointless nonsense".

The real statistic wouldn't even be the percentage of 'registered voters'. It should be the number who voted yes, compared to the number who would be qualified to vote e.g. everyone over 18 years old registered or not registered to vote. I don't have a doubt the number of unregistered persons in these remote areas would be VERY significant. If someone makes a statement about what aboriginal people support, it MUST consider ALL aboriginal adults. Not those who registered to vote, no doubt a percentage encouraged to do so by the yes activists.

I was told by someone who's income is tied to the aboriginal grievance industry, that industry can't find enough aboriginal people to fulfil the positions set aside specifically for aboriginal people in the companies ESG plans (this person writes these plans). More positions vacant than aboriginal people to take them up. Oh, they may have to relocate, exactly what I've done several times in my working life.

It's a pity that Tony Abbott wasn't able to withstand the onslaught of the left-wing media that brought down his prime ministership and gave rise that was the disaster that was Turnbull/Morrison. I can think of no better politicians than Tony Abbott to have lead Australia through the farce that was covid, and this current attempt to overturn Australian democracy by the radical socialist activist class.

By 'logic' IS the very basis of politics. You either believe in the 'logic' that big government and group action will lift the well being of society as a whole (left logic) or that government is a dead weight on society and the individual and it is individual freedom and effort that rewards people (right logic). Every human interaction is 'politics' (I didn't agree with this when I first heard this in a uni lecture, but I do now). Even marriage is 'politics' i.e. understanding the other side, compromise, negotiation, power sharing, etc, etc.

Linda Burney owns at least eight homes. Lidia Thorpe has a beautiful home, actually a credit to her (saw it on the ABC's 'Kitchen Cabinet'). Noel Pearson owns a home at Noosa. If your question is can aboriginal people living in places controlled by aboriginal land councils own the land/home they are in, I believe the answer is no.

@mworld That's as I understand it. During 'the voice' debate Jacinta Price described the aboriginal land councils as the ultimate example of authoritarian socialism. She should know.

That was one of the great ironies of a 'yes' vote getting up. No future coal or gas development in Australia would ever be approved again, and there would be pressure to close all existing one. The 'climate extremists' would have worked hand in glove with the activists who made up the nation 'voice'. The very wealth that allows Australia to fund health, education, the arts, and every other leftie program would dry up to a trickle.

Labor (State and Federal) should most definitely press ahead with their Makarrata (truth-telling). I can think of no better way to piss of the 60+% of Australians who voted NO than a group of bitter intolerant activists (primarily of European heritage) making out just about everything of Australia's past is evil. P.S. They should actually be thankful it was the British and not the Spanish or French that came 200 years ago.
