The problem is, unless there's a credible alternative to Ursula that can work with all sides, then she might win by default, because there isn't any other big names.
With that said, Draghi would be a credible alternative, but either way, a lot of horse-trading with go on until they all can come up with some compromised deal that works better than nothing, that will likely mean watering down some of the demands on all sides, or maybe it's high time that we have reforms to the EU so the people themselves can elect the Commission, or better yet, merge the Commission and President together as one electable position by the people, that would solve the problem of picking a Commission and would make the EU more democratic, which is something it needs to work off to fight off the far right that take advantage of divisions and lack of accountability in the EU, especially when it comes to the Commission.
In any case, unless Merloni and her far right mob have a credible alternative that is workable for all, then it's probably going to end up with Ursula by default with probably Draghi being a credible alternative that could work.
