I do remember when they tried to do region locks for dvd's for each EU country but the EU stepped in and put a stop to that so it's one region for all the EU countries which is better for the consumers, nowadays it doesn't really matter as dvd's and bluerays work anywhere.

With Biden coming into power in the US, this could be the perfect time for both the EU and US to work together on some kind of common ground and rules over these big companies. In any case, the bigger these companies get and the more hands they have in more pies, the more governments are going to go after them to bring them down a few pegs which if these companies don't wisen up, it could end up braking many of them up as well. In any case, this was easy to see coming as these companies kept getting bigger and being in so many pies, governments around the world was bound to go after them and this is likely just the start of it. The EU has been the one pushing hard on this but now it's looking like the US and others are starting to wake up on this, now it's looking like real change could happen to get these big companies to change their ways but really, the US should be sorting out it's own companies and it's sad that other powers around the world have to step in because of inaction or weak action from the US.
