True but it never really achieved anything because the EU put the same amount of tariffs on US goods, in the end, both the US and EU were hurting each other which was playing into the hands of what China wanted, Trump didn't see that but it looks like Biden does.

At first, the US and Boeing didn't think the EU and Airbus would compete but as the years went by and Airbus was gobbling up market share, Boeing didn't like it and got dirty and then the economic war began with no real winners because of the size of both the EU and US, well I say no winners, the EU is probably the overall winner going off the market share that Airbus has from nothing and that it seems to keep growing. As for China, it's clear as daylight that the EU and US has to work closer together to counter China, I suspect they both know they are not big enough to keep China in check but working together and bringing other countries onboard of like-minded nations, that should be enough to keep China from being so aggressive. This relation between the EU and US is likely going to get much stronger over the years and decades because for all their differences, they have a lot in common at a time where there is a real threat from China.

@lonelyretard4203 True and Japan did try to enter the market but again, they don't have the resources to compete with the EU and US, China on the other hand is a different story, they have the incentive and resources to make it work in time and because of this economic divide that's going on from the west and China, that gives them a much bigger incentive to create home-grown tech.

@gerhardaryawardana72 It does seem like that, we see it a lot from the US where they seem to have to create an enemy out of nothing to justify it's military spending, probably why EU countries are not crazy on following the US on military spending because honestly, there's little point. The EU and US does have a common purpose thanks to China and to a less degree Russia, but I think as we keep advancing, it's going to be harder for us to keep bickering as the cost is becoming bigger, tech progress is more or less forcing the world's people together.
