I think the numbers from Sweden, Norway and Finland are quite telling and seemed to be more about protecting the economy over the well-being of the people but even the economy can't really be protected that much with everything else going on in the world. Herd immunity is another thing that isn't a given if the virus mutates. Now the law not having the power to close the country down and trust in the public is another story and that explains a lot on why Sweden took the path they did, the problem is, can we really honestly expect the public to practice social distancing when it's done by choice? even the more careful of us are bound to make mistakes at times and looking at the numbers of infections in Sweden compared to Norway and Finland look quite grim really, also, we can't really compare to many of the countries on the mainland of Europe like Italy, France, Spain and so on because these are top tourist destinations so it was always going to be harder to control and worse in those, we even see that at a more local level within countries that the parts that get the hardest hit are the regions that have a lot of people coming and going.

@peterw8532 It's actually the capitalist that think more like that, after all, just look at the Tories policies on the older generation of people during this crisis and even before it. What's crazy about it as well is that a lot of older generation of people give the Tories their support on the election and Brexit and now this government is stabbing them in the back with poor support.
