Also, the palest resist was used to atempt regime change in jordan, lebanon and also when iraq invaded kwait. Everyone seems to forget the role of soviets in this conflict.

  13. A lot of eu member states have border disputes between each other and with non-members. EU made easier to not bother with said disputes and maintained the status quo or to find a diplomatic solution to said dispute by connecting economic interests.

  14.  @herptek  not young, so no I don't speak for myself, I speak for the numerous studies done by the eu whereupon more and more of the young generations show an european identity above a national one. It makes sense, nationalism is a phenomenon of xix century, with the internet, eu policies like erasmus etc, new generations tend to see more and more a continental identity than a national one. The more we evolve transportation the smaller the world gets. But thanks for the childish response, trolls are always expected.

National identity has no substance either, identities aren't substancial rather spiritual, is a feeling of belonging based on random borders, decided by elites and agreements never asked, and aligiences of servitude inherited from the middle ages in the european case. Define country, nationality and nation - start there, than u'll have 5 years of cultural studies (like I have) than get back to me. Bye.

War is a financial and economical burden, sooner or latter if there aren't real results and a somewhat normalized life, there will be even more pressure from inside to end the invasion cause that's how populations behave anywhere in the world. Russia just doesn't have time.

  42.  @herptek  identity isn't objective fact, never was, it's very subjective. Ad hominem doesn't change this fact. One of the oldest nations in europe is the basques, their nation devided between spain and france, their identity isn't a nationality albeit they are spanish and french. This is a great example, as their national identity is SUBJECTED by very armed elites who for centuries imposed french and spanish nationality uppon them, to the point the french forbade basque language. Present time, and in a way more diplomatic way, policies have produced in younger generations an european identity, an example being programs such as erasmus and alike. Feeling of belonging to an identity is a product of policy and history (which changes as much as borders do) and it's very subjective and relative in time and space. This isn't my opinion, it's the concensus of the vast majority of authors and studies in the matter, with the exception being the nazi authors ofcourse.
