@barca8341 usa is at the moment the biggest producer of oil. Also they have the biggest oil bank (they have been storing up barrels since the straight incident, been decades). They don't need middle east oil. What they need is for oil to be sold legally and according to the rules agreed upon. If oil is sold illegally (and has been a lot) it can produce an imbalance to the world trade and kill economies (not the US nor the big ones, the smaller dependent ones that are USA clients). In conclusion, no oil has been stolen by USA, they dont need it, they have the biggest store and the biggest bank of oil. Second is Russia. Middle East is 4th because number 3 is south east Africa. Oil is not that uncommon, even my small poor country has an oil bank. Thing is middle east sells so cheap that it makes it not worth for us to dig. No one is dependant of middle east oil, that's a big big mith.

The problem was there before. It always was there. Afghanistan was hippie paradise during the 60's not because of the landscape, food or people, but because of drugs.

@LiaMari it wasn't the 90's, it was the end of the 90's when Europe changed its currency to euros which meant it was impossible to clean up drug profit. That's when production needed to diminish to keep drug prices on the high end. It's a no brainer. Also, it was used as a crack down in loyalties of both producers and transporters. American troops guarded fields because both taliban and their opposition are drug cartels. It's a narco country, it depends on drugs whatever the regime is. This is all a no brainer and doesn't need any other source but a healthy knolege of history and economics.

@wolveslands6701 and that's the definition of censorship which is a fascist tool to keep control.

It's basic rule of traffic. Never alow it in your backyard. Makes harder to deliver to well paying big clients if the product is diminished in the process of being sold cheap locally. Same thing in Brasil, boca de fogo Boys are forbidden to consume.

@darrellclark9596 the petro-dollar was a part of the agreement, it helped to boost the economies dependant of oil sales, such as golf countries, Spanish Guinea, etc. That's what gave usa the idea of a mega store of oil.

@amazighman2 Not true. Just last year Saudi had to forbid the trade of agriculture products with Lebanon as they were the method of trafiquing cocaine. Saudi has a cocaine problem, it's just not publicized but it's there.

@amazighman2 doesn't matter problem exists anyway. The out of sight out of mind doesn't make it less of a problem, it's hipocritical to think otherwise.
