  2. Yes, but since Alexander the great until nowadays armies have learned, but looks like russia hasn't. My country is small and unimportant and the army has a 8 to 10 days kit in every bagpack. So supply of food isn't an issue to start with. And this is a poor country budget, one would think russia would do better at least in feeding solgiers the first week.
