Problem is romenia isn't in a much better place corruption wise. Romenia is of now working really hard to get better standing to atract more foreign investment. Germany had the instirutions and money to make a kind of marshal plan for the process and no one was standing in their way. And it wasn't a walk in the park, they had to deal with many many problems along the way, some still present. Romenia, on the other hand, is not on the same position and reunification can produce more problems than solutions. I think that's why both nations like the idea of being united in EU, same end result but less problems.

It's so tiny and slim that if it weren't for rus medeling, by now no one would be talking about it. Just an amusement park, like a living museum, where peeps could enjoy a glimpse of what soviet union was about. And also a great location for movie set. It would be a place of biz and u would probably refer to it as romenian, or moldovian. All this is 100% politically made.

The size of khazakstan should tell us how crazy that idea is. If rus army is struggling in ukraine... Makes no sense to me 🤷‍♀️

@MESOHIPPUS but this is trabsnistria, they aren't russians. And russians are humans, should be treated as such. If not, what's the difference of what putinism advocates and us? Transnistria is the sort of thing that happens in europe a lot, all of us have regions, areas etc who aren't one thing nor another but due to time and good policy became part of something. An example, the basques, who aren't french nor spanish (and actually a pre indo-european language) but that presently live in both spanish territory and in ftench territory and for all purposes have such nationalities. And I have a tone of such examples. The difference to transnistria is putinists placing a tone pf money to keep a status quo with the intent of destabilizing moldova (romenia is the final goal). Best policy in these instances is not to antagonize the people but to understand the unfair position they are placed. And about language, it is an european language of great authors, we shouldn't give putinist the russian language as it isn't theirs, they just so happen to have kidnaped it, as they do with all things.

@michaeljohnson9760 well, than they'll have to deal with china cause an year ago, china did oficially abounced khaxakstan of limits. And there is a reason for that, there are 2 roads (road and belt iniciative) who were made for chinese plan to circumvent sea trade in case of being blocked: thru pak and thru khazakstan. I don't think china will allow it's stratigic investment to fall into russian territory. What do u think?

@ObIitus wrong. Transnistria is internationally recognized moldovan territory and moldovan responsability. Tell us why do u think russia wants transnistria?

@Siranoxz yes, and that has been happening, but fighting corruption takes a long long time. And also corruption in the eu is another problem all eu memebers need to adress. The eu commission isn't doing enough to prossecute eu member companies who take advantage of smaller members lilr romenia. It's a very hard fight, specially when it's ingrained in all areas of a country.

20 years ago I went erasmus in poland and the idea in the air was to work to reach this, their common goal was to never ever let it happen again, cause their history is invasion after invasion and the next one worst than the previous. I came back and everyone laughed at my perception, but they aren't laughing now, the poles have just that one goal, after that they don't concur in anything, but that one topic, no doubt, they all agree.

@dv4497 that doesn't mean that romenia has its own level low enough as to start such a process as reunification. They have made huge progress in the last decade but still, such an endevour could harm both countries fight v corruption and cause spikes in both. My statement doesn't make a hierarquy of corruption levels, just states that it is an impediment to a well organized, good for the comon men reunification, which is correct.

@stephensipe5405 2. Ur tiny youngling history is not to be compared with the very very very old history of europe. Only fools would do that. Also, comparing the history of 1 country (very much made by force) to with 2 diferent countries with 2 very different cultures/ languages/ history/ etc, is for morons. If the international comunity doesn't recognize than it isn't a country, case in point, the basques, the tupiquinin uncontacted tribes, the sentenalese, and so forth. The fact u insist on ur personal preception tells me ur emotionally invested in changing the definition of what a country is which is hilarious.

@ObIitus it is. Both sides claim the whole of china. The devision is remnants of chinese civil war that happened on the middle of the 2nd world war. That is basic comon knowlege. China ccp also claims a big chunk of mongolia, almost half of russia, a small portion of afghanistan etc. Afghanistan doesn't recognize pak/ afghan border, etc etc. But u went specifically to taiwan under a false narrative, shows ur trying to sell lies.

@ObIitus and china is a great example, do the tibeten define their country? No, they don't, cause internationally they aren't defined as occupied. Do the uighurs define their country? No, they don't cause internationally they aren't seen as occupied. The list goes on, cause china proper (ethnically) is just the south eastern most part of the country where han majority live. 😂 The only thing taiwan doesn't recognize is the ccp, which I agree with, I also don't recognize a government based off a book by a german authour in the middle of asea, I see it as colonial (my perception, internationally ccp is recognized).

In transnistria was more the rus federation spending there, more so than in most rus fed places to keep influence in the common man. With no investment and u'll see transnistrians migrating to places where there is hobs and opportunity and coming back to transnistria with a different idea. No one is interesting in maintaining a past that's gonna make u go hungry.
