@dioghaltasfoirneartach7258 ukraine does have the potencial. It also has another war to fight to reach said potencial, corruption. It also needs to keep in mind their l elders pensions, cause jumps in economy usually cause havok in the already distopian pension purchase power.

Because for a regime to fall takes time, a lot of it. My country was also dragged into war by a colonialist regime, and it took years for the topple the leader reaction to accur. Once the reaction kicked in, in 24 hours it was done. The full fledged war isn't even 1 year but the last 5 years there was the formation of partisan groups. They've been very active in the past year, so it's a question of time. Ukraine just doesn't have the time to seat and wait, so it just doesn't count on it, it works as if there was no internal resistance to putinists as that is the pragmatic option.
