  2.  @reddragon100  that's the thing. For weather events u needs lots of much cheaper small dams and lots of topography analisis and swales etc and not big projects. Big projects is about big buisiness and making a few extremely rich. Weather events resilience is about small projects and comunity work. Research about it as there is a whole movement working on this around the world. The way we think agriculture, industry, energy, infrastructure is wrong and outdated. There is a much better way of doing all this: it creates way more wealth and way less rich people - and that's where we need to push politicians.

I'm in Iberia peninsula, the plans to dry up areas for urbanization killed the swamps, huge areas of intensive crops, animal feed (some of them as a pastime not for business), paper trees etc have dried us so much that now it isn't summer its again and again forest fire season (more appropriate name). Some towns are already empty with zero people in it. If this keeps going there will be no Iberia peninsula just another desert peninsula. So avoidable with a comprehensible permaculture corridors that would help rain water reach the aquifers.

  29. 🤦‍♀️ Severe drought leads to floading. If the terrain is to dry it stops absorbing watter in weather events (excessive rain) and it causes floading and it removes nutrients and thickness of soil. That's what climate change does - extreme weather. That's why hydro management's needs to change to help the soil absorb said rain. Its all explained for anyone who wants to read it.

  30. Like everywhere else it's a matter of people and not politicians. Low quality maize is great for biogas. The dams need to redesign to have more secondary storage and release it during drought so energy keeps on being produced. Farms can be redesign to storage rain watter and manage better etc. This is the consequence of lack of vision and, like all biz, a portion of profit should be used for reinvestment. 🤦‍♀️ It's enfuriating cause the tech is here and people instead of working for it they just sit and cry for politicians to solve.

  31. I think some governments just quit the policies because the people need to work and they don't have the economics or the structure to impose lockdown. I think that's yhe case with mozambique. Their biggest isue right now is the fact they have ISIS in their territory amd their ecobimic loss due to covid has severe consequences (starvation). It's the reality and we shouldn't judge these countries as they are in a dire situation.

Actually taiwan has something that makes it much easier: it already has the infrastrucrure to defend itself and has been making itself central for all other economies to work, thus making the world interested in maintaining at least the status quo. Taiwan is so smart that most often than not, u don't even notice how key they are.
