The criticism isn't that. It's about building codes and its inforce meant, financing civil protection etc. You can't stop a natural disaster but u can certainly mitigate it, which isn't the case. Turkiye has a strong central government based of presidency, so yes erdo is political responsible for not inforcing building codes and strengthned government services such as 1st responders and civil protection agencies.

@alaneldira9578 it's political. Look at japan, all those under the rubble are there cause building codes weren't inforced and the effected areas don't have the proper quake response protocols.

@grigol101 false equivalence, the nonsence is urs. Turkiye is a country whose regime is based on a strong central government in the area of building code, usa is not, its state by state building code. A skyrise that crumbles like a house of cards has week anti-seismic structure or non existent which doesn't obey the turkish building code who has been written in the aftermath of 99 izmit quake. Telling others what to talk about or not while not researching the topic is just showing off ignorance which is exactly what u just did. Using deflection methods such as false equivelence is the go to of propagandist and all the ill will trolls of the net - that is u. Just stating the obvious.

@First-Last_name and it shouldn't be a government response but a civil protection one, government should be and extra. There should be protocols for situations like this to mitigate natural disaster consequences in a earthquake prone area not a solve on the spot kind of thing. It's enfuriating the fact building codes weren't respected nor inforced and also thr fact comentators defend the incompetence of proper authorities and don't understand why the outrage of some of us.
