  1.  @handbags4948  perto-dollar. If u pump too much oil, price goes down, consequence being the bankruptcy of some pumpers/ frackers and the devalue of the dollar (imports costs). Also, usa already pumps/ fracks enough for internal consumption, it's the refiners who prefer to import another tipe of oil. As for uk, it was never a self sustainable economy, it depends on raw mats since industrialization. Finally, coal isn't efficient enough for the xxi century.
