  1. The only reason the nobles didn't accept the anexation was taxes that were implemented. It's more what if no new taxes. Follow the money and you have the answer of most of european history.

  2.  @brokenbridge6316  I can asure you back than nobles weren't necessarily portuguese, french, etc... They were a mixture of nobles mariages of all countries, there was no patriotism, it was all politics and money, and they weren't moral either. So best way to answer questions about Europe is money.
