  2.  @brittakriep2938  As I understand it, the Confederate Army had a plan to create units of pikemen in the early days of the war, but they were able to procure enough rifles and so the pikes were left in storage. However, during the American Revolution, pikes were issued and used by the Continental (American) Army for a brief period.
