  3. Liberal Democrats should not be Europhiles instinctively. Imperialism was largely achieved under Liberal governments. As a party with 'Democrat' in their name, fundimentally respecting the referendum result should now be a top priority otherwise they simply make a mockery of themselves. If anyone should be offering olive branches it should be the EU. Being placed in a position of perminant grovelling and cowtailing is not a strong position for a sovereign independent country. The vision of 'kissing the EU' s backside' should not be in anyone's voting priorities. I very much supported Charles Kennedy in opposition to the Iraq war. Lib Dems have. Suffered some really catastrophic leadership since then. More is the pity. If ever people were calling out for a 3rd option.
