Speaking as an American, I feel bound to point out that even when we question the validity of our election results (spoiler warning: we ALWAYS do), we don't take up arms to redress the situation. Even in our Civil War, it was certain states wanting to leave the country, not impose their will by force. This is not to say our system is perfect. In fact, it's pretty damn messy. But that's the nature of democracy/republic, and you have to grit your teeth and bear with it. Especially when it's unpleasant. On the basis of the information presented here, my only attitude towards the heads of the Myanmar military is contempt.

In an ideal world, the USA or somebody championing democracy would slip a commando team into the country to assassinate these generals and other key people behind the coup, and open the possibility for it to be overturned. Of course, that sort of operation has a very small chance of success and almost complete chance of dramatic failure. I'm just fantasizing, really. ^_^
