@Golden2Talon "updates everyday are annoying." How is that a Linux thing. Linux makes it easier for you to control when you do updates than Win 10.

@bergkajian1257 "Windows 10 is dogshit in memory usage but I don't remember any other negatives on the system. What was so bad about it? (I am new to pc's)" You have to suffer and/or fight the built-in spyware aspects. It's more vulnerable to malware, so you have to install anti-virus, and maybe pay a recurring fee for it. But the main things that bother me about Windows, increasingly past Windows 98, is the lock-in business model and the fact that you have less control over the computer, and have to fight more for what you can get. These last 2 only apply to computer enthusiasts and libertarians, I guess. I hate the straight-jacket of "idiot-proofing" that is baked into so many modern products. Whenever I can opt out of that maddening BS, I do.

@SurajGrewal "Just add another harddrive , be it second hand 320gb spinning disks of rust , and install Linux on it... The easiest way to dual boot. Far better than having 2 OS single drive." That is the only way I have ever dual-booted. No chance of destroying your data with a repartition. Unplug the wrong drive while installing to prevent overwriting the wrong drive. Opt for the bootloader in install. Make the Linux drive before the Win on boot priority. Get the bootloader to reinitialize with the Win drive plugged in. Set the bootloader to default to whichever you like. You just have to get comfortable with opening the case. Come to think of it, that is how I transitioned to an entry level hardware person. I now build my computers.
