@gymhayes4613 And such things would only be known by scholars of archaic literature, instead of having a renewed fan base referred by Tolkien. Tolkien created the popular market for fantasy fiction which underlies D&D Fantasy RPGs, etc.

Dune, in addition to some detrimental political allegory, kills off most of its most interesting characters rather early in the first book. It focuses too much on the in world politics, which is not an interesting subject, (the same flaw corrupts Azimov's Foundation). In order to interest me, a novel must contain a cause or a main character that I can recognize as good, or at least as innocent (which usually equates to young). When Paul grows up, the last scrap of interest has left the series.

@MrTorleon Personally, I would have liked to see the 20cm version, with the rest of the dimensions suitably scaled up, on parchment and large print like a medieval pulpit Bible or a fairy tale spell book.

"His conversion might have been an effort to absolve himself" [of his actions aiding the Nazi regime] Spiritually, at least. That is basically part of the deal of conversion. (of the V2 vertical record flight) "This is the first recorded instance of a rocket being sent into space orbit." Space, yes; orbit no.

@anothercomment3451 You don't know what a firmament is.

@nickie2011 "This guy and many others were actually kidnapped. This guy was a hardcore Nazi, didn't want to work for the enemy. It's been researched. " It's been lied about. There is no way anybody wouldn't have wanted to join the Americans at that point. It was join the Americans (or the British, who might not have been as sanguine because of the V2 business) or be enslaved by the Soviets. The Americans didn't have to coerce anybody, and they knew it. Hitler himself would have taken the deal if he was offered it.

@fredcollins8919 "Better US having the advantage rather than the world hated Communist Soviets." You betcha! Consider what would have happened if the Soviets had developed nuclear warhead ICBMs FIRST! They would not have hesitated to use the instrument to blackmail the West, and they would not have been bluffing. If you are alive and you are free, thank Dr. Werner von Braun and "Operation Paperclip"!
