Comments by "Digital Nomad" (@digitalnomad9985) on "Why is it important for Trump to be tough on trade with China?" video.
"China has not fired one bullet or launched one rocket to expand their reach." China militarily conquered Tibet and tried to conquer Vietnam and South Korea. They are telegraphing their intention to subjugate democratic Taiwan by force, and they brutally administer their conquests. They will expand militarily wherever they can (unless they can achieve the same results by subversion). They are held in check by alliances led by the US and India. China's silk road initiative has been successful in increasing their overseas coercive power (through client debt). It has not been that great as an economic investment. China is at the peak of an infrastructure and real estate bubble that when it bursts will be worse than the one that hit Japan, because at least Japan's infrastructure was quality made and retains residual value, whereas China's is junk.

@drogynturalyon9914 Bowing is a courteous greeting in China, not restricted to obsequiousness to superiors. Bowing to people you meet in China is not the same as bowing to a "king" in Saudi Arabia.

Henry1183 "Nothing matters" is the default excuse for the lazy.

Some trends are predictable. Real estate bubbles beyond a certain size always burst. It happened to Japan, which every fool in the 80s swore was bulletproof. Japan still hasn't completely recovered from that. It will be worse for China, because Japanese real estate was at least soundly built and durable and retains residual value. Chinese real estate is falling apart.

@WaldemarPerezJr There is not a viable alternative to money in some form.

What do the 2 things have to do with each other?

@jamestownsassacre9211 "race relations even went down" = Obama actively and deliberately stirred up racial tension for political gain.

@defenestratefalsehoods "didn't talk to them" is false. You either don't follow the news or are deliberately misrepresenting it, either way it's a lie. The tariffs FOLLOWED talks in which deals were struck which China kept trying to change after the fact. This is typical of Trump detractors. You make assertions that are easily proven wrong, in hopes that your readers don't follow the news or have short memories.

What failure?

China is not into open stuff.

@Rhaspun CNN hasn't been interviewing Chang because he does not fit their narrative. Real estate bubbles the size of China's ALWAYS burst. It is worse when the real estate is falling apart as soon as it's built, and you're using it as an asset on your balance sheet, and security for loans.

Claudette J When Fox is saying things that European governments don't want heard that is sufficient explanation. The other cable networks have lost their ratings by promoting stories that have proven to be false.

Well, they haven't been lying about the Mueller investigation and Russian collusion for 3 years, that puts them ahead of the pack. When the number one recurring story on all the other networks proves false, and there is no apology or retraction, that undermines cred.
1
There will still be a China, of course after its economic collapse made inevitable by the massive real estate bubble.

China is not, and has never been, our main trade consumer. They have tried as hard as they could to use trade as a geostrategic weapon. They avoid buying US products whenever they can.
