I think the contradiction is that the Democrats are driven to lengthening the working day for Americans in order to compensate for all the workers laid off due to the increases in wealth accrued by CEOs in all of America’s vital industries and are now a political cartel exposed acting on their behalf. Blame the CEOs and you’ll have a revolution; blame a scapegoat and your’ll have a war. Democrats do not want a revolution. Prices of goods are decided by CEOs. Workers have no part of deciding what the manufacturers suggested retail prices ought to be, this in regard to inflation. Inflation is not an object, its a small clique of employers, who decide price and use prices as a means of coercing workers to voluntarily work more hours, especially in places where people are paid by the hour, more hours of work increases the company’s wealth, more volume of goods are made, etc. This puts all the CEOs on a track to get the government to open more markets because of this higher volume and their cost is less for the CEOs making them, the profit is higher, and making them is even cheaper when not in a place where wages are high; but the contradiction is that these CEO actions lengthens the hours people have to work to keep up with the cost of expenses (prices going up). If technology and science can raise output and lengthen hours of work it can also shorten hours of work and bring prices down being cheaper per unit made. If workers acted on this side of the contradiction the propaganda of blame your poverty on someone else will have no effect on the minds of the working people; they could make some real changes taking collective ownership of technology and science.
