Companies want to make a profit and the government does not want to pay more for services. Any company government contracts with is going to cut their own operation down to make it profitable and you end up with companies cutting corners and not plowing profits back into the business. Not until a breech happens or a crisis do we learn that companies the government use to perform government work have been reducing the quality of their services and the quality of government goes straight down the toilet.
