  1. The hope of casting off feudalism in the Middle East the aristocracies, monarchies, kings and princes, peasant, serf and kinship tribal landowners was lost with the defeat of the Arab Spring. That was a genuine working class and people movement that could have turned the civil wars into revolutionary wars inspiring all the lower social classes in the region to overthrow their respective regimes and establish a civil society with a secular government the way Mosaddegh had done in Iran. If the Iranian government had not been a religious clerical revolution of the political sphere but a social revolution of the public sphere it would have promoted the Arab Spring as a way of ending feudalism.
