All skills are used in one step of a three step process that the corporation is able to capitalize on production and then accrue $20 bn in profits from sales. Auto workers are obviously not an equal partner with the corporation in the production phase as they were before in the negotiating stage with the corporation. They were equal as seller and buyer and they exchanged agreements but they come out as unequal partners in the production phase where skills are used to create $20 bn in product in anticipation of its sale. Value is added to the investment. The corporation wins the value the workers lose in the value they made in the finished product. Seems to me the right way to resolve this inequality is for all skills own a share of the finished product and 51% ownership of the factories to prevent plants from ever leaving the country. The wrong thing for labor to do is what the Biden administration wants them to do, a contract settlement in the old fashioned way a double-standard job not a career and no change in Labor as the unequal partner to the corporation in production.

American has the best means but scores the worst minds is the main problem cited by all major ranking systems on education in the world. How will a Bill raise the intellectual score of Americans is the question. The Bill addresses a social problem; it does not address the intellectual problem of low ranking. The same problem is found in health care. America has best medical infrastructure but the worse health outcomes and a Patent Bill of Rights has not improve America’s medical outcomes at all! That a nation even needs a Bill of Rights for patients in health and parents in education is evidence the real barrier to improving minds and bodies are the social relations of health and education. This measure is like a dart missing the dart board hitting the wall and falling on the floor.
