  1. Venezuela is an oil-bearing society that has the potential to be a big rival to American oil companies. The shock to the US system could be very severe if there was a oil rival in Latin America. This is the economic reason the US State Department with iron necessity launches attacks on Venezuela, it is only to slow down Venezuela’s capacity to be a competitor to the US. Should Venezuela seek to develop their oil rich reserves through arrangements with Brazil, India, China or Russia, all hell will break loose in Washington. There is an ironic element to US policy in that what they do not want to happen will happen, almost driven to happen, as oil becomes the currency of a nation all currencies want a commodity that will give their respective nations the same or better political and economic advantages. To be king of the hill of the world market today is to own and control two primary commodities very few nations are allowed to get their hands on, i.e., oil and nuclear weapons. All this competition driven by the power of commodities over humanity will lead to a third world war because it cannot lead to anything else.

  2.  @fatemehm2949  On a social-psychological level the point I make about “...the power of commodities over humanity...” is a power objects have over human beings...none of us exercise “Free Will” not even the Oil Oligarchs exercise free will, as we are dependent on Oil or nuclear weapons. The car and the car industry, the workers in the car industry are an accessory to Oil do not exercise Free Will. Government, the Middle Class, Working Class, all Humanity in this era of Oil and Nuclear weapons has no free will and/or self-determination while life in general is directed by commodities in particular.
