It is interesting that among all the western leaders, Trump and Trudeau, put their reasons forward to protect and develop their workers and industries but human development digresses under both of them. A clear case of the behavior of a state falling short of its aims or there is no intention to socially enrich their workers and industry just industry. What are the reasons for tariffs advancing American capital, technology and science, if the aim is not to undermine the cost of the competition and enable a protected industry to gain a larger share of the world market? Trump's measures develop one side of the total capital invested and this leaves the other side deprived and desperate, and in increasing poverty. By his idea, US industries can move forward, or stay in existence, by one capitalist destroying another. Given this strategy and economic environment what choice does Trudeau have but to retaliate with tariffs and behave like a capitalist?
