Black rage in the form of some bizarre interpretation of the Bible confronting an institutional interpretation of the Bible as represented by white boys.  Hideous, both are the ugly face of religion and religious human beings. Phillips admits he believes if he stood in front of the extremes conflict is avoided. In reality he stood between them. His back to one side his front to the other side, this is the movement of police, their backside protecting and serving the State and their forward movement side exterminating protests whereas, I would have not intervened.
