What about the long term side effects experienced by those who were previously infected without being vaccinated vs. the long term side effects of those who are infected after being vaccinated?

@jasonj4326 , And that’s why the unvaccinated should pay an extra antivaxxer healthcare premium on their taxes in those countries. And in countries without universal healthcare, the health insurance companies should be allowed to charge an antivaxxer surcharge as well. With smokers they tax cigarettes, but with Covid, there’s no product to tax, so they should tax the individuals directly. Also with cigarettes the more you smoke, the more taxes you pay. Deciding to be unvaccinated is a binary choice with a known increase in risks of adverse reactions to a disease that are easily reduced, so the cost of this premium should be easy to calculate.

@prestige8161 , PCR tests can tell you with incredible sensitivity and specificity whether or not a virus replicating in your body. They just can’t tell you whether or not you are sick, or contagious. If you are already sick, then a PCR is a good way to figure out why. But since we know that many people are asymptomatic, a positive PCR result obviously doesn’t mean you are sick. But you don’t really need a test to tell you that you’re sick. They have done viral culture experiments and have determined that if you are unvaccinated and your cycle threshold is 30, then there’s a 70% chance that you’re contagious. Experiments have also shown that if you’re vaccinated, the CT needs to be 20 in order for there to be a 70% chance that you’re contagious.
