@criticalthinking2062 , The tests work.

@swingambassador , The vaccines can not fix damage that’s already done. You need to get vaccinated BEFORE you are infected.

It’s even more sad that even after explaining, most people are not smart enough to understand, and will still disagree with the facts.

It’s sad that people need this explained. It’s not complicated.

No. 95% fewer of those who are vaccinated are not getting Covid. Covid is a disease. Disease means you got sick. If you’re infected by the virus, and you don’t get sick, you didn’t have Covid. The problem here is that people do not understand this. 50% of the unvaccinated do not get Covid when they are infected by the virus. Because the vaccines are 95% effective at preventing Covid, 97.5% of the vaccinated do not get Covid when they are infected. If 19% of those with Covid develop long Covid regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not, then 95% fewer people who are infected with the virus will develop long Covid when infected by the virus.

@criticalthinking2062 , You’re very confused. Try learning some science.

Dr. Been says he’s seen people with prior infection cure their long Covid with vaccines, and people with prior infection and no long Covid develop long Covid after the vaccine. I believe it’s some sort of immune system malfunction, or damage caused by the immune system, because it’s impossible for the vaccines to cause any other type of lasting effects.
2
@swingambassador , Long haul symptoms are resolving after vaccination in some cases, but that doesn’t mean that the damage has been repaired. Maybe it means that new damage has been stopped.
2
@garywatt4546 , They obviously have NOT “recovered” or they would no longer be experiencing symptoms.
2
First question “Can the unvaccinated develop long Covid?” Ummm… Really? That’s the question?
2
@benrawlings5439 , Hey… He “recovered”… “People who have recovered from COVID-19 tend to score significantly lower on an intelligence test compared to those who have not contracted the virus, according to new research published in The Lancet journal Clinical Medicine. The findings suggest that the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 can produce substantial reductions in cognitive ability”

@louisejoel , No. It means that the virus has caused permanent damage, and the immune system has not gone completely back to normal after infection. Vaccinating after Covid might knock the immune system back to normal.
1
@louisejoel , Different treatments seem to be helping different people, so there are likely several different causes of long Covid. But I doubt any of them have anything to do with lingering spike proteins. We develop antibodies against the spike proteins, so our immune systems will eliminate them.
1
@louisejoel , Are the immunocompromised surviving Covid? I wouldn’t think so. How could they?
1
@andrewbuckley914 , If you have antibodies, then those antibodies will find and attach to the spike proteins. Can you explain how those spike proteins are avoiding the antibodies?
1
@badgoogle9938 , You’re confused. Very confused. Your quote is NOT what I said.
1
@DulceN , These people are incapable of understanding. My guess is that it’s because they “recovered”. “People who have recovered from COVID-19 tend to score significantly lower on an intelligence test compared to those who have not contracted the virus, according to new research published in The Lancet journal Clinical Medicine. The findings suggest that the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 can produce substantial reductions in cognitive ability”
