Donavan Caton, Wrong. Vaccines are not causing the viruses to mutate. Viruses are always mutating. Vaccines are only providing selective pressure by preventing every virus that is incapable of evading the antibodies developed after vaccination. If one of those random mutations just happens to evade those antibodies, then it might start spreading. What Geert is saying is that if millions of people are exposed to the virus while their antibodies are not fully developed, there’s an increased chance of this occurring. This makes sense. Therefor it is very important that we maintain social distancing, lockdowns, and mask requirements even after we are vaccinated until the pandemic is over. Once the pandemic is over, then only a few vaccinated people will be exposed to the virus, greatly reducing the probability that the vaccine will mutate to avoid our antibodies.

I doubt it.

Tony Conrad, Right. And Geert is saying that if millions of people are exposed to the virus before immunity is fully developed, there’s an increased chance that the virus might develop methods to evade the vaccine. Whether he’s right or wrong doesn’t matter. It’s not worth taking any chances. Therefore we should all be extra careful about avoiding exposure to the virus after we are vaccinated just like we have been doing before we are vaccinated.

Deborah Hebblethwaite, If you could have gotten the vaccine a year ago and avoided getting Covid altogether, would you have chosen to get Covid instead of the vaccine?

Tom johnson, 10% to 20% of those who are infected with the virus require hospitalization.

Deborah Hebblethwaite, Right. And all the current vaccines work for all the current variants. That’s because there’s currently no selective pressure selecting for variants that are able to evade the antibodies produced by the current vaccines. Geert is claiming that once that selective pressure is in place, then any chance mutations that are able to evade these antibodies will end up being the variants that take hold and spread. It’s possible that these variants are already out there, but these variants currently have no advantage over the existing variants. Therefore they are not spreading more quickly than the other variants. This is why it’s of vital importance that we double down on our mask and social distancing policies as the vaccines are being deployed. But, after everyone is vaccinated,

Phantom21, Regardless of whether he’s a quack or not, or if he can hold a job or not, he’s making a valid point. We should increase our lockdown efforts during and after our vaccination efforts until the pandemic is completely over.

Deborah Hebblethwaite, I believe we have better education and the shutdowns and social distancing is better today than it was back then. Without these things, it would be a lot worse. I believe that this virus is actually worse than the 1918 virus, and the reasons why we haven’t experienced it worse is because of everything we have done, and because we have better medical technology today than we had back then. However, I also believe that we could have done a lot better this time than at have. We could have actually stopped the virus completely. China did it, and we could have too.

Tom johnson, I learned about Ivermectin about June of last year. It works a little. It reduces viral shedding a bit, and probably saves a few lives. But people are still dying even with ivermectin. They’re using it in Brazil and several other countries. There’s a clinical trial in Israel that shows that it helps some. I’m pretty aware of everything out there. You’re not going to tell me anything I don’t already know about.

Tom johnson, People experience brain hemorrhages all the time. Have you looked at the frequency of these events in the unvaccinated population and compared it to the frequency in the vaccinated? I bet you haven’t. I also bet that if you did, you’d find that there’s no difference. You understand what that means, right?
