  6. It’s simple. We only freak out about it and take action after the hospitals become overwhelmed. That means that when nobody was vaccinated, we were locking down and mandating masks right away. Now that the most vulnerable have been vaccinated, we wait until kids start dying before we freak out. If nobody was vaccinated right now, and we acted like we are right now, it would be way worse than it is.

  7. This is the infection fatality rate in the United States when 1/3 of the population was infected. That means that if the entire population were to be infected, we’d have about 1.2 -1.8 million deaths. This happens to be exactly what the scientists predicted over a year ago. And that is WITH lockdowns and mask mandates. Image how it would have been had we done nothing. Or, how it could have been had we done like Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, or China. Another thing is, this completely ignores long term adverse reactions experienced by many of those who survive.   9. That number is wrong. I the real number is more like 60%. And it’s scary that it’s that low. The vaccines are very safe and effective.   15. They’re reporting that herd immunity is not possible with vaccines. Well, not with these obsolete vaccines targeting a virus from over a year ago. We need a new vaccine that targets all currently known variants of interest and maybe even some new variants that we can predict using computer models. We should be able to predict all possible future variants already. I’ve heard scientists say that all current variants have existed since the beginning of the pandemic, and it’s selective pressure that is causing the variants of concern to become dominant. Well, if that’s the case, we should already know all the variants that can infect humans, and we should be able to create vaccines for every one of those variants. Or strategically pick them so that the vaccines are most effective against all of them. I believe they’re not even trying….

  16. Maybe they don’t want to update the vaccines because they want to teach the antivaxxers a lesson first. If they updated the vaccines to target all possible variants, The pandemic would end and the antivaxxers wouldn’t get infected. With a leaky vaccine that allows the vaccinated to infect the antivaxxers, all the antivaxxers will get that natural immunity that they want so much.

  17. “Criticism that his company should have produced a more potent vaccine” this is the most ignore ant criticism. Obviously by some dum bass with absolutely no understanding of science. The vaccines they made were the best possible vaccines that could be made. Moderna’s vaccine is more than 3x The dose, and it’s just a tiny bit better. The problem is the antibodies. We now need a booster that targets all currently known variants of interest simultaneously. We need them to make 20 different vaccines and then mix them all together into a combo vaccine. That way none of the current variants of interest will be able to break through.
