  2.  @RabJ208 , These vaccines were fully tested for safety before July 2020 when the FDA approved the vaccine for use in a phase 3 efficacy trial with 30,000 participants. There is NO WAY the FDA would allow a phase 3 trial to commence with an unsafe/untested vaccine.

  4.  @darrencook731 , The disease means you’re sick. If the virus does not make you sick, then you didn’t get the disease. Infection is not the disease. If you are asymptotic, then you are not sick and therefore have no disease. Just because you can be infected by the virus and transmit it to others does not mean you are sick. This where the “terrain theory” comes from. They believe if you improve the terrain, you’ll prevent illness. Well, this is EXACTLY what vaccines do. They prevent you from getting sick by improving the terrain. Antibodies prevent you from getting sick. This is how vaccines work. It’s just not 100%, because some people have other problems with their “terrain”.

We can NOT do any better. If we could, we would. This crap is NOT on purpose. We’re not that good yet, and might never be. Maybe it’s just not possible to do better. We are working with our immune system. All we can do is give our immune system antibodies. Then our immune system does whatever it does. We do not have the technology to change or improve how our immune system works. We can only provide our immune system with tools that it knows how to use.

  8.  @RabJ208 , In fact, they didn’t even allow human safety trials to commence before they conducted animal experiments that proved that the vaccines were safe in animals and produced the same antibodies as natural infection.   10.  @davidwilson1930 , In the UK over 95% of those over 50 have been vaccinated. Less than 5% have not. Since the vaccines are supposed to be 95% effective, we should expect about an equal number of hospitalizations and deaths in the vaccinated and unvaccinated in those over 50 in the UK.

  15.  @emmaattwood6296 , In 2003 they tried to make a SARS-CoV-1 vaccine, and they successfully made one. Then they gave up on it when SARS-CoV-1 didn’t cause a pandemic. The virus went away, so they stopped vaccinating people against it. Learn the facts bro.

  17.  @caribbeanchild , Wrong. The Spanish flu is still with us today. It has mutated over the years. It doesn’t effect the way it originally did because today we all have antibodies. The same thing will happen with SARS-CoV-2. Everyone will be infected eventually. Those with antibodies will have significantly higher chances of survival. Those who don’t will suffer more severe illness, and many will die. In the end, everyone will have antibodies, and SARS-CoV-2 will be another common cold virus that nobody will care about. Every new variant will be nothing more than a minor nuisance. Viruses do not evolve to be less lethal. We either develop immunity to them, or we evolve to tolerate them. (The latter alternative involves a LOT of death)

  19.  David Fallaha , @yesopie is saying that mutation is a random probability thing. Every time a virus replicates, there’s a random chance of a mutation. One can easily deduce that more replication = more mutation. It’s a numbers game. Bigger numbers means it’s more likely that one of those mutations improves the performance of the virus in a way that makes things worse for us.

  22.  @colty7764 , The delta variant started BEFORE vacations started in India and has not mutated since. It’s therefore more transmissible than any variants if delta. Because these viruses are constantly mutating, and no variant of delta has become more virulent, it means that Geert Vanderdumbass is wrong.

It’s now an observational phase 4 study where they are monitoring participants for antibody levels to determine how long immunity lasts. They plan to continue to observe until 2023.
