The last time oil was $120/barrel, gas cost $4/gallon. This time it’s $6/gallon. Why? The oil companies want to recoup their losses during the pandemic.

@misterbacon4933 , Has nothing to do with taxes. The taxes were the same when gas was $3/gallon. The gas tax hasn’t changed in years.

@feloniousmonk3049 , 12-15-2020 was in the middle of the pandemic. Everyone who could was working from home. Of course gas was cheap while there was no demand. Are you suggesting that the low cost of fuel at that time was somehow due to Trump’s brilliance?

@glenncordova4027 , It has nothing to do with refineries. Just like the war, that’s just an excuse to rip us off. They’re charging more for gas and diesel because they can. They continue to, because people are still driving around when they don’t need to because they can still afford it. For gas to cost $6/gallon, oil should be over $150/barrel. It’s not.

@Countcho , Those factors, whatever they are, do not include taxes, or an insufficient number of refineries.

@feloniousmonk3049 , How many times has the taxes on gas in California increased in the last 6 months? And how much did gas cost 6 months ago? I’m curious.

@feloniousmonk3049 , BTW, on and before 12-15-2020, Trump was actively trying to increase the cost of oil by begging OPEC and Russia to cut production. He obviously failed, because they ignored him. They were both attempting to drive US oil companies into bankruptcy. You apparently lack an understanding of the facts.
