  3. The Economist articles have gotten much more populist under Zanny Minton Beddoes. Rather than presenting critical thinking from China's point of view as with John Micklethwait, Zanny Beddoes just goes along with whichever hipster like view is most acceptable and goes along with that. This isn't surprising since Fox and Tucker Carlson, misinformation central, is paying her bills. The facts are China is a responsible stake holder in the world, if anything more so than America these days. It's true China's power have become even more concentrated under one man Xi, which is this case is necessary to implement China's longer term strategic plan. There are weaknesses with concentration of power, but it is still preferable to America's near nearsightedness of having to change legislature every 2 years, and a change of executives every 4 years.

America's financial malfeasance led to 2008 financial crisis. America led IMF/World Bank trapped emerging economies into a debt trap, which China's belt and road initiative has carefully avoided, and America's unilateral trade war with all countries weakens not only America but all countries around the world, and America's de-funding of WHO causes even more death in the middle of a pandemic. Want one more, America's tech war is hurting innovation around the world, innovation is the only key to truly improving standard of living for everyone. Yes China should lead, and will likely do a much better job.

  10. Furthermore, China and the world can clearly see what happened to Russia after the Berlin wall. Unemployment sky rocketed, America which signaled aid to help with democratic transition never came, people starved, and it took a guy like Putin to stabilize the economy. So after the fall of the Berlin how well did Russia's economy go, and how well it's political system. The answer is the transition is clearly a fiasco.
